WHS Announcements Feb 11, 2019

     

The Wayne HS JROTC-  Performed at the Rutherford B. Hayes High School in Delaware Oh on Saturday, Feb 9, 2019.  The JV Armed Team commanded by Gabriel Symons placed second.  Evelyn Vukovic placed 3rd out of 300 cadets in the Varsity Knock Out. Natalie Coffey placed 3rd in Armed Knock Out. Kolton Maish Placed 4th in the Armed Knock Out. Gabriel Flores Betancourt Placed 5th in the Armed Knock Out. Kurt Olipas placed 8th in the Armed Knock Out.  Congratulations to all the winners, next completion is at Tecumseh High School on March 9th.

PATRICIA B. KEITH SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The Patricia B. Keith Scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating Wayne High School student(s).  In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must complete each section of the application including two sealed letters of reference.  All applicants must also have attended Huber Heights City Schools for a minimum of twelve (12) years.  This year's application includes a checklist to help applicants verify that all necessary sections of the application are completed and all required items are included. Completed applications for the 2019 award can be picked up in the Career Center & must be returned to Mrs. Bargo no later than March 22, 2019.

THE SENIOR FEE LIST HAS BEEN UPDATED OUTSIDE THE MAIN OFFICE WINDOWS.  REMEMBER, TRANSCRIPTS REQUESTED WILL NOT BE SENT IF YOU OWE FEES.

TRACK INFO -

Any student wanting to compete for Wayne’s Outdoor track team, an informational meeting for Parents and student-athletes (Wednesday) February 20 at 6 pm in the cafeteria.  It’s important that you and your parent’s/guardians come to the meeting.  Any questions please see coach Fern in A216.

 SCIENCE CLUB NEWS -

On February 12th (Thursday)Science Club celebrate Valentines Day with a fun activity from NASA and snacks will be provided!

All interested students are welcome to join in H112 for the next Science Club activity.

Wayne HS Troupe 112 Presents: The Addams Family Musical

Tickets on Sale starting Thursday -thru the  21st at the Bursar’s office or cast and crew members.

Performances are March 21, 22,23 at 6 PM and Saturday, March 23 @1PM

Advanced Tickets before March 21, $7.00 ****At the Door – Tickets - $10,00

Thursday, opening night performance, dress as your favorite GOTH character and receive $1 off tickets at the door ONLY. A limited number of seats available for each performance.

Check - Outside the main office, The Senior office, or Outside Counselor’s Hallway (double checking the correct spelling of your name. Please see Mrs. Miller to make any changes.

Seniors are you looking for information on Scholarships. You will need to send your email address, so come to the main office for more information on how to receive notifications when scholarships come in.

GUIDANCE INFORMATION:

RESCHEDULED INCOMING FRESHMAN PARENT NIGHT TO FEBRUARY 19 AT 6:30 PM

ACT/PreACT/ASVAB is Tuesday, February 26th.  Juniors will take the ACT, Sophomores take the ASVAB and Freshman will take the PreACT. 

COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS - NEW STUDENTS for the 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
Informational packets can be picked up in the Career Center or from your counselor. 

 

 If you are planning to participate in CCP for next year, the Sinclair ONLINE APPLICATION must be completed and the AUTHORIZATION FORM must be turned in to Mrs. Bargo in the Career Center , AS SOON AS POSSIBLE  If you have to take placement test, testing can be done at the Sinclair Huber Learning Center or Wayne will offer an opportunity to take the test on (Thursday) February 14th.  please sign up in the Career Center. See your counselor if you have more questions.  

DAYTON-MONTGOMERY COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – Any senior who has an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is eligible to apply, the deadline to apply is March 1st.  please see your counselor if you have questions, or get the website address from the main office.
