Wayne High School is offering a Summer Scholars Program to help students get academically ahead of the curve. The following classes will be offered June 11th – June 29th from 8 am to noon:
- Financial Literacy
- Physical Education
Students will earn a half credit upon completion of the 3-week session, which will allow them more flexibility to create the schedule they want during the regular school year. The Summer Scholars Program also offers Credit Recovery courses for both sessions. The registration deadline for the Credit Recovery courses is June 8th for the first session and June 29th for the second session.
There is a $150 tuition fee, but a free lunch will be provided immediately after class at Wright Brothers Elementary School.
Students can register for the Summer Scholars Program with Wayne’s Bursar, Mrs. McCullough, from May 11th – May 25th. Application forms are available in the counseling office or click here for summer registration form. After a counselor has approved the application, it may be submitted to Mrs. McCullough with payment. Please note that payment is due when registering, and there will be no refunds after the first day of classes.
There are numerous reasons to enroll in the Summer Scholars Program. Students can:
- Complete prerequisites for MVCTC and pave the path to participating in other programs such as AFJROTC and Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
- Continue a current foreign language or start a second one
- Make room in their schedule for additional electives or advanced courses
These positives and more are waiting for students this year as a Summer Scholar. Enrollment is limited so don’t delay in claiming your spot.
