WHS Financial Aide / FASFA Application assistance March 3, 2021 6 - 8 PM ITC at Wayne

JOIN MS. BRIDGES & COUNSELORS TONIGHT FROM 6PM – 8PM, ITC.

We will walk you through filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All you need is Your Appetite (PIZZA WILL BE SERVED) and Parent/Guardian 2019 Tax Information. If you don’t have that information, please still attend; the information is valuable and you will still be able to make good progress on the application. Filling out the FAFSA is one of the most important steps you can take to help pay for your education. Before Colleges and Universities award any Scholarship money, they require you to fill out the FAFSA. Filling out the FAFSA can seem over whelming, however completing the FAFSA online is easier than you might think. We Are Here To Help!

September Kona Ice information

Wayne High School is continuing its Kona Ice program to reward students for their hard work and good behavior. Students can still receive recognition for their efforts even if they are online. Students who do not receive this reward can still participate by showing up and purchasing a Kona Ice. This month will be a contactless "drive through" event at the school. On September 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Wayne, students can drive up and receive or purchase Kona Ice. Your name will be on a list for those who receive a free Kona. For all others you may drive up and purchase one. View the flyer and the information about their new online ordering.

March is Theatre in Our School Month

WHS Little Women posterWayne Warriors have been working hard since August to present live and streaming shows. Weisenborn and Wayne theatre students have produced two shows so far. Come and see their latest dramatic creation.

There are 3reasons we NEED Theatre in our schools.

First, theatre does no harm. Positive Energy For this reason alone, the more time and energy we as a society devote to theatre and the arts, the better off we will be.

Second, theatre is a sophisticated expression of a basic human need -- one might call it an instinct -- to mimic, to project stories onto ourselves and others, and to create meaning through narrative and metaphor.  WE CAN SEE OURSELVES.

Third, theatre brings people together.  This gathering function of theatre is, in and of itself, something that matters.

Fourth, theatre models for us a kind of public discourse that lies at the heart of democratic life, and builds our skills for listening to different sides of a conversation or argument, and empathizing with the struggles of our fellow human beings whatever their views may be. When we watch a play, we learn what happens when conflicts don't get resolved, and what happens when they do.

Attend a play (live or virtually). View the world from another lens...fall into a story.

WHS Drama Club and Thespian Troupe #112 - present - One-Act Plays Nov 18th 6:30PM

The Door  .  .Wayne High School Drama Club and Thespian Troupe #112 would like to invite you to the Winter One-Acts. These 25-35 minute plays are completely student produced, directed, and performed.

The first hour is a family event with two story-telling and interactive plays. The theater opens its doors at 6PM to The House of Dreams a child’s fantasy world during dreamland. Five rooms will engage the audience and allow for an interactive experience as well as some sweet surprises. At 6:30PM Alice (a Wonderland Tale) takes the audience on a familiar ride through the rabbit hole but with new friends met on the way. A brief intermission will be encouraged. All audience members will be asked to clear the seating to have the stage reset for a serious subject matter performance, The Door. This 7PM show is intended for a PG13 audience and is a ripped-right-out-of-the- headlines. Grace refuses to answer the door to the police as she fears the news about her grandson.  The audience will cry and rage along with the lines performed on stage.

Tickets will be sold the week of show and at the door. A discount is given if all three shows are purchased. Each show is $2 or all three shows for $5.

As a reminder, The Door is not intended for audiences under high school age.
