Lock Down Statement

9/4/19 – Huber Heights City Schools (HHCS) implemented a precautionary district-wide lock down today. All students were required to remain indoors with all outside entrances closed and locked for the remainder of the school day. Students were able to move between classes within their building, but were not permitted outside the building. Dismissal for the day was conducted as normal.

The precautionary lock down was caused by an armed robbery taking place near Wright Brothers Elementary, Monticello Elementary, Weisenborn Junior High and Wayne High School. The lock down was expanded to be district wide as a measure to ensure student and staff safety. The suspect fled the scene and is being pursued by police.

HHCS administration is fully committed to working with the Huber Heights Police Department to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Important Update from Huber Heights City Schools

Huber Heights City Schools (HHCS) administration learned that a former Wayne High School student attended tonight's (8/23/19) football game with a concealed weapon in his possession. Upon discovering this, the HHCS administration immediately contacted the Huber Heights Police Department, who quickly apprehended the individual and brought him into custody. All students are safe and the game went on without interruption. HHCS administration is fully committed to working closely with the HH police  to help ensure the safety of all students and spectators at all district events.
