Wayne High School Student Has Top 10 Finish In International Leadership Conference

Brooklyn McFaddenOrlando, FL – Congratulations to Wayne High School senior Brooklynn McFadden for her top 10 finish in the International Life Support Skills Contest for HOSA-Future Health Professionals. McFadden is in the MVCTC Medical Lab Assisting program.


She is one of the 17 MVCTC HOSA contestants that earned the opportunity to compete at the international level. Students participated in contests for Parliamentary Procedure, Public Health Emergency Preparedness, CPR/First Aid, Medical Spelling, Life Support Skills, and Dental Science.


HOSA-Future Health Professionals enjoyed their largest ever International Leadership Conference (ILC) with 11,520 members, advisors and guests attending the 42nd ILC in Orlando, Florida, June 19-22, 2019. HOSA was represented by 54 chartered associations including Canada, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and 32 members from China.


The week was filled with excitement and opportunities for its members to come together to compete, learn, and share their HOSA experiences. Conference highlights included China receiving their charter, 60 health-related competitive events, 110 educational workshops, 74 exhibitors, and the nation’s #1 doctor: The Surgeon General, VADM Jerome Adams, M.D., M.P.H. Steve L. Robbins delivered the keynote address and his message on diversity, inclusion, and the power of caring was very impactful for future health professionals.
