Hart scholarship information

The Hart Scholarship is awarded annually by the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation. This scholarship is named in honor of Ed Hart, a Huber Heights resident who dedicated much of his time and resources to make our schools and community a better place. Ed passed away in 2004 and his wife, Lou, passed away in 2018.

The objective of the scholarship committee is to help the most well-rounded male and female graduating student-athlete from Wayne High School achieve their goal of obtaining a college degree. The Huber Heights Athletic Foundation will award an $8,000 scholarship, payable at 

$2,000 per year for four years, to one male and one female graduating student-athlete.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must have earned a varsity letter in the sport of their choice at Wayne High School and eligible to graduate with the Class of 2020.

Application Process:

Application – Candidates will need to complete an application. Applications may be emailed to applicants by contacting It is important to provide all of the information requested, as it is a major part of the evaluation process. The completed application must be returned via email to or by mailing it to the following address and marked to the attention of Selena Crace.

Applications must be received on or before June 3, 2020.

The applicant will interview before the scholarship committee after the application is reviewed and the committee has verified their eligibility for the scholarship. Applicants will be given a list of questions and choose one to deliver a 3-5 minute presentation. The committee will also be asking questions to learn more about the applicant. The interviews will be held at the Huber Heights Athletic Foundation at a date to be determined. Applicants will be notified by email or text message for their interview time.  


Late applications will not be accepted, regardless of reason. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Follow the directions on page 2 carefully.
